The Start of a Long Partnership
Our uniquely collaborative and passionate work ethic, always alongside our clients every step of the way, is rooted in our past.
Late night dabbling with lasers in the basement of the Stellenbosch University Physics Building brought together a small but diverse group of science and engineering students, mutually developing competence and love for this amazing technology. Twenty five years later these individuals still retain their passion for lasers, having not only done extensive research and development in the field, but also commercialising various systems for a wide range of applications in Defence and Industry. The collaborative nature between these individuals persists to this day, to the benefit of our clients.Â

Dr Wayne Koen
Founder
Since building his first laser over two decades ago, Dr Koen has remained captivated by photonics, with a passion for the development of state-of-the art lasers. He has extensive and diverse experience in the research, development, commercialisation, and applications of Lasers in Defence as well as Industry. Dr Koen holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Stellenbosch
